Andrew David has arrived!

Here are pics of our newest family member! Andrew David has arrived! He is beautiful! Isn't he just precious?? A good sized fella, 8 lbs. 5 oz and 21 3/4 inches long! Amy and David are thrilled! I have yet to hear from big sisters, Sarah and Julie! This is my 10th grandbaby!! Congratulations, family!!!

A Visit From Amy, David Sarah and Julie!

We had a wonderful visit for a day with Amy and David and the girls last weekend! It was so good to see them all! The girls have grown so much! They really put up with me loving on them well! And they had alot of fun with all their cousins! Maya and Sarah just picked up where they left off over a year ago, best friends!

Amy got to take her birthday present home...I cross-stitched her a cute pic of a mouse with an apple (her kitchen is done in apples.) And she also took home some of the old pics with her. I had some from Grammy's and Aunt Jenny's stuff that were a bit older in age baby pics of her that she didn't have. And I had a few little things for the girls too! Well, that saved me a mailing too!

Maya looks sad in the pick because that was when they were saying goodbye! I hope Amy got some that were happy ones! As you can see, Sarah took a bear home with her!

It sure was a fun visit! Thanks for coming, Amy and David and Sarah and Julie! We love you and hope to see you again really soon! Amy said maybe Christmas! That would be wonderful!

New baby Vinny! Such a dear!

Well, the little guy FINALLY made it home! He is such a sweet little guy! Look at all that hair! He is doing good and nursing well! Being he was bottle fed all that first month, I think he really took to the breat very EASY! He is a noisy little guy, not with crying, but with little cooing and grunting and complaining noises...its really cute!

My Goodness! What a slacker I am! Here it is July and I haven't put a post on here since March! That's awful! Well, our biggest news is : Little Vincent Thanomas Burks is here! He was born July 8, 2009 and weighed 3 lbs. 6 oz. He is already up to 3lbs. 14oz.! He is doing great! I can hardly wait for him to come home!

I am expecting 4 more grandbabies by March! Amy and David are expecting a boy! Due in September. Fonso and Cheryl, also a boy! Due in December. Raqui doesn't know yet whether a boy or girl, due in January. And Tom and his little girlfriend Carolyn are pretty sure they are also expecting, probably in March or April! Lots of new babies!

Other news: Tom's court date has been extended till November! So, that is a relief for now! Megan is doing ok, enjoying her time off from school. She goes monday to get her wisdom teeth pulled. Raqui and her boys have moved out of my house into their own apartment! All my grandbabies here are doing good! All growing up so fast and learning so many new things! Darius is taking about 8 steps at a time now!

I've been very busy making baby things! I tried something new called a cocoon for Jen's little Vinnie. It looked like something a preemie in particular would feel safe and cozy in! Now I need to try to get some new things done to list on etsy! I only have 22 items on there right now! I have also sold some of my crocheted things on ebay lately! I also have something in mind for Amy's birthday, which is coming up FAST!!

I had a great birthday! Getting so old! Thanks for all the wonderful gifts and cards!

Sorry its been awhile since I wrote anything! Things have been pretty rough lately. Tom had more trouble, just walking down the street is called disorderly conduct here! I guess especially when you're a young guy with a few friends and not walking on the sidewalk that doesn't exist ,and blocking traffic which isn't there!!

So another missed day of work to take Megan to the dentist and Tom to court: $100 fine and $100 cour costs. And Megan has to see the oral surgeon April 9th, she has to get her wisdom teeth pulled out!

Then there has been a few incidences with Mrs. Griffin: 2 different near falls, ALOT of bruises and a swollen knee! And her toe has had a sore unrelated to the falls, that won't heal. So, along with the Alzheimer's, she is not doing well at all!

Me, I've been ok. Busy filling another custom order for Janie (nightngale1111) and crocheting other little booties and hats. The pics are of the new sets and the way she embellished one of the other sets.

I've been going through things in the house and getting rid of stuff!! And going through all Aunt Joyce's and Grandma's pictures! A BIG job!! I did start on little Darius' birth announcement today! Even though I'm going through and getting rid of stuff, I bought myself a new Annie. But, can't show you a pic yet because I don't have the camera and didn't take one when I did have it! She's cute, though!! Here's the finished auction:

Good Things that have happened recently

I'm trying to appreciate the good things that happen and not concentrate on the bad ones! so, here it goes:



Tom is working! His job is called engineer. He's helping people do their beats and sound for their rap cds, which his "boss" says he's great at! And its a PAYING job!!



Nicky got into a fight with Ginger (ok, not so good!!) but, she lost her tooth in the fight and she is feeling much better! Taking biscuits out of your hand better, eating better and honestly acting younger!!



DJ said "Spider Man" today! Raqui said it sounded like sider man! He is learing so many new words since he started school!

I FINALLY got my hair cut! Since Tom has been in jail, I've been spending the main part of my saturdays standing around waiting to visit him for anywhere from 2 1/2 to 4 hours to get a 15-20 minute visit. So, today, since he's not there anymore, I was finally able to go to the beauty school and get a haircut!! yeah!!

I got a new etsy custom order yesterday for 6 (6!) sets of flapper hats and maryjanes! A great sale!

I had a really nice visit with Jen and Maya today! Somehow, I need my "dose" of Maya! She always makes me feel special!!

I have talked to ALL my children within the past week! That is amazing!!

So, you see...there are MANY good things to be thankful for if we just take the time to notice! And right now, good or not, it looks like a winter wonderland outside...SNOW not ICE!! Another thing to be thankful for!

No posts in a long time!

Sorry no posts in so long! I've been so down! Since the beginning of the year it seems like WAY too many things have gone wrong! Tom got into trouble and then we had that HORRIBLE ice storm and then Megan has had some trouble too and in between it all the washer broke down too! Too much bullsh_t!!

Then, last weekend my Aunt Jenny died! I hadn't seen her since Grammy's last birthday party, about 11 years already! But, Jo called crying and very upset, because of course she spent alot of time with her. She was a very sweet Auntie! She lived to be 89, which is really OLD for our family!!

This weekend, after they did nothing Friday but give Tom another court date, I bailed him out of jail. Its funny, but somehow that in itself has made me feel better!! Even though it means me and Meg are gonna have to wait to go to Arizona!

I thought she'd be really mad, but she's not....shes ok with it all, so that's good.

Lately, I've been crocheting more little goodies to put on etsy and have finished two cross-stitch bibs for Darius. And a little dolly dress set for Sarah's dolly I sent her for her birthday. So, I have been busy with my projects, as usual. Here is a pic of Julie with the dolly dress set! And also a pic of the cute little elf dolly I gave Susy as a very late birthday present. Cute, huh?

Well, I think that's all the news for now. I'll try not to go so long in between posts anymore!

Things here haven't been going terrific, by a long shot. Between Tom's trouble, and about the same time that happened, Megan hurt her back falling on the ice, she was out of school the rest of the week! Then, she no sooner goes back to school and she gets sick with throwing up and then that turned into a very sore and swollen throat! Along with all this, the washer has been broken and they're waiting for parts. And I've been having all these problems with my hands and wrists, which I believe is carpal tunnel! Then, we get horribly cold weather for here, it went down to 9 degrees and the pipes froze! I mean, it has been really one thing after another for 2 weeks now!!

But, you know those kids can always do something to give you a laugh! I have a shelf in the living room, that Jen painted for me, that I keep bears on. well, this shelf has knobs that I have a couple bears hanging on. Well, Maya was digging into some bags of toys that have been put away for awhile and she found her old butterfly. Look where she put it! I left it alone because every time I look at it, I can't help but chuckle!! You just gotta love it!! And it makes me feel good! I need all the help I can get lately!!

trouble for Tom

I guess you all know by now that Tom has gotten into some pretty serious trouble. I hope it all doesn't come out too badly! I went to visit him today...he says he's been reading the bible and working out. He says when he gets out he's staying out of trouble and going to church and going to GED classes and looking really hard for a job! He says to tell you all he loves you! I've been so upset and depressed over this. I'm just trying to keep busy and I've finished a few new things for my etsy shop. Here's some pics. I'm reading a Danielle Steele book right now that is really good, called "Journey". Other than that it has been a quiet weekend. Maya and Jen were here for awhile last night. They are doing good. She has to work this weekend. Maya is her usual crazy little self. I have to fix her Annie doll. She pulled the "bangs" right off. Hope no one else has had this problem!! She calls this Annie "sister" its really cute!!
